WORDS OF OUR LORD
TO ST. FAUSTINA

“ Souls who spread the honor of My mercy, I shield through their entire life as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death, I will not be a judge for them but the Merciful Savior.”
(Diary 1075)

THE DIVINE MERCY “Say a Little Prayer” MOVEMENT

The DIVINE MERCY “Say a Little Prayer” MOVEMENT (DM-SLPM) – a non-stock, non-profit Catholic lay organization – was founded in 1985 by Bro. Don de Castro to answer our Lord’s call to announce to humanity the Gospel message of His mercy, and to set forth new forms of devotion to God as Mercy for everyone, especially for the ones who need it most.

The Movement, with absolute trust in the Divine Mercy as its very core, took root in the Philippines, which started in a private home at 19 Spencer St., Cubao, Quezon City, among a very small group of believers who heard and reflected upon the words of our Lord. Slowly, the words reached other ears and hearts.

With the support of radio, television and print media, the Movement launched the now widely known 3 O’CLOCK HABIT” – a moment of prayer every 3 o’clock in the afternoon, remembering the passion of our Lord in praying for peace for the whole world. The 3 o’clock prayer is aired daily in different Metro Manila and provincial radio and television stations to date.

The Movement is asking that we, all children of God, say a little prayer each day for the conversion of sinners and for peace in the world, as our Lord requested that we pause every 3 o’clock in the afternoon and implore His mercy especially for sinners, and to encourage souls to practice works of mercy.

The “Habit” is a minute of prayer, each day at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, for peace and forgiveness of sins in our country and the world, taken from the Devotion to the Divine Mercy, as told by our Lord and recorded in the Diaries of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska:

“At three o’clock implore My mercy especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, steep yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world… In this hour I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion, for at that moment mercy was opened wide for every soul… at that hour grace came to pass for the whole world – Mercy triumphed over justice” (IV,59)

DM-SLPM is a service-oriented Movement with a main objective to propagate the Message and Devotion to the Divine Mercy, and perform the corporal and spiritual works of mercy in accordance with the messages revealed by our Lord Jesus Christ to a simple Polish nun, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska.

THE DIVINE MERCY TV CHANNEL (DMC)

Media is one of the fastest way to reach out to souls to come back to God while it is the time for mercy, and in line with our goal to involve mass media in spreading the message of God’s love and mercy to mankind and to reconcile souls with God, the DIVINE MERCY TV CHANNEL (DMC) was launched in February 22, 2002, on the 17th year anniversary of the DM-SLPM, to be able to reach out to even more souls.

DMC is currently broadcasting God's mercy to souls 24 hours a day through video streaming (internet TV) for FREE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, powered by JumpTv, “The world’s leading destination for online television,” with subscribers from over 70 countries (To watch, please click here) and recently, through America Online (AOL) (To watch, please click here), both of which could be accessed here on our website, www.divinemercytvchannel.com, for free. DMC is also viewed through cable carriers nationwide.

Through DMC, we promote the Message and Devotion to the Divine Mercy. By using media we can reach out faster to more souls. As Saint Paul said, “Faith comes by hearing.” As we hear the word of God, conversion sets in the soul and good works flourish.  Through the channel we become active partners of the Church in bringing our Lord closer to mankind, as well as bringing mankind closer to our Lord.

Moreover, through DMC we are also able to bring the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist to the sick, dying, aged, disabled and even to the imprisoned who, because of uncontrollable circumstances are unable to receive and attend the Sacraments.   Through DMC, they are enabled to continue to grow spiritually despite the fact their condition prohibits them from going to church.

DMC has also given so much spiritual strength, upliftment and hope to souls that are longing for God’s love and mercy. By means of our 24-hour operations, the DMC was able to save lives and souls from the brink of death by literally stopping them from committing suicide as drinking poison and the like.

DMC is able to communicate and enhance a person’s spirituality by taking advantage of the continuous innovations of technology. Aside from being able to reach souls by means of conventional television (cable television), DMC also utilized the power of the internet wherein anyone anywhere could watch the channel, also for free, with just their computers and an internet connection simply by going to our website, www.divinemercytvchannel.com.

Furthermore, DMC also saw and made use of the power of the innovations in telecommunication, specifically MMS and SMS, more commonly known as “text messaging” by launching “Divine Mercy in my phone.” This program enables anyone with a mobile phone to know more about the messages of our Lord to St. Faustina by receiving daily messages from the Diaries of St. Faustina by means of simply subscribing by keying-in “DMC MOBILE” and sending it to 2256. The program also enables the user to download in their phones various images such as the image of Divine Mercy and St. Faustina.

With the fast paced lifestyle and rampant innovations in technology, the channel aims to bridge people’s hectic and stressful way of life and their spiritual needs.  The channel acknowledges the existence of modern technology and has utilized it as a means of reminding people that only through God’s comfort will a man be able to find peace. Currently, DMC aims to further capture a wider international arena by linking with international satellites and fiber optic connections to be able to reach more souls.

The channel is a clear and concrete tool used to spread the message and devotion to the Divine Mercy. What's more is that the channel enables anyone and everyone who helps spread our Lord’s work and message of mercy to claim our Lord’s promise that, “Souls who spread the honor of My mercy, I shield through their entire life as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death, I will not be a judge for them but the Merciful Savior.” (Diary Entry # 1075)
